Default clutch slipping?

So lately when I've been cruising at a steady speed and I go to pass or just need some more power if I hit the gas hard the rpms will go up but the car wont move any faster, then it will go down and it will sort of "catch" and I'll get power to the wheels. Is that the clutch slipping? What else could it be if not that?

That being said, what clutch kit would you recommend (on the cheaper side)? I was reading a PDF file that summit has with their king cobra clutch and ford recommends a new flywheel, is that really needed?

the only reason you will need a new flywheel is if it is cracked, if it is not cracked just get it resurfaced. the king cobra clutch kit is nice, i had it on my last gt

Try this, at the car at a stop put the car in first gear and put your foot on the break, let off the clutch, if the motor still sort of idles before it cuts out then I would change your clutch and flywheel.

Yes your clutch is slipping. You can get some more life out of it though, just go easy on it.

that sucks... it was just replaced about 4 months ago. I dont know what kind of clutch is in it right now though. Will it be noticeable when it is just about to go out? This car is my daily driver and I'm in school so I dont have the cash to get it replaced right now. [:@]

Also, I dont ride the clutch or anything but sometimes in traffic in order to inch up I have to engage the clutch halfway with it in first and give it some gas. Could that have worn it out so fast?

IF THE CLUTCH is only 4 months old than you need some lessons on driving a 5-speed!!1
