Default 4v cams?

i am getting a mark 8 motor and putting 03 cobra heads on it. a guy local to me said that the 96-98 cobra cams would be better since i am going NA. This guy said there would be 15-20rwhp difference. how true is this?

Also if this is the case what would be better 96-98 cams or 99, 01 cams?

also how do the above apply to fr500 cams and ford gt cams?

then which is the better choice?

i don't know, i think any 4v cam would work, just pick out what kind of specs you want it to have, if they say 96-98 would be the best for N/A and you want to stay that way, then go for it.

Buy aftermarket ones and get the most from those heads.

i would buy aftermarket if you have the money, if you dont want to spend alot of money you could use the stock 03 cobra cams and bring the lsa closer between the intake and exhaust cam to give you a little more performance.

i was told the 03 cobra cams wouldnt be the best for NA usage. i was told the exhaust cams would be fine but the intake cams arent agressive enough

Of the stock cams 96-98 are the most aggressive of all the 4v cams for N/A.

No idea on aftermarket, so I will not comment there. Gotta be expensive dropping a grand on cams though [&:]

comp makes cams but on any aftermarket cam plan on paying about 1200 for the cams and then factor in springs and you have a lot of money tied up. however on that note, cams are the deciding point of how your engine is going to perform.

Sean hyland cams with an exchange $600 they are all under .500 lift so they can use stock valve springs but they need shims under the lash adjusters because they are regrinds.(According to SHM . But its not a bad idea to change springs if high mileage or really aggressive cams)
