Supercharger (opinions wanted)
Hey guys,
After reading many, many, posts I came down to this conclusion. I need a supercharger!
Goals: small amount of money, a lot quicker than stock, no CEL's, and reliability.
Solution: Mongoose Supercharger kit, tune, and Wideband A/F guage.
I want you guys to comment on that alone. I am fully stock and just want to get this done before anything else including (gears, intake, and exhaust). Would I accomplish my goals and leave it at that without any other mods?
Thanks guys

Best choice you can make there with what you plan to get. I would also tell MPH to throw in one of their powerpipes while your at it. I think its only like $200 more. A mongoose kit is just a kit that Modular Power House puts together. It comes with every single possible part to make the install at a great price and a wicked tune.

there's the mongoose kit... it really is the best SC kit out there as of bang/buck ratio.

I'd spend the extra few hundred and go for their Paxton Novi-2000 Mongoose kit. You'll get all the goods necessary for a complete install including a tune, and you'll have much more room to grow down the road horsepower wise.

I think you should save your money until you have enough for the kit and to forge the bottom end.

Why? It has been proven you can SAFELY run this kit for LONG periods of time on High Mileage Motors? If his Goals arent much more why spend the extra 2-5k?

It has never been proven. I know plenty of people that have torn up their bottom end on 6psi. The only way I would ever run a SC on a stock bottom end would be to run it at 4-5psi and have it tuned w/ a very conservative tune and lower the rev limtter. I personally wouldn't run a SC on my stock bottom and I have a forged crank. I'm very conservative though, I don't risk things. I'm all about doing it right the first time.
