Default disappointed in 04 gt

a frind of mine has a stock 01 gt 5 speed with 65000 miles on it. mine is a 04 gt 5speed with the mods in my sig. we run alittle bit today from a 20 roll, i pulled him by ahalf car in 1st, then that was all, let off at about 100mph. mine only has 8600 miles on it and everything that i have do to it has made it faster. just wonder if it aint broke in good yet. I had dakota r/t that didnt start runnig good til about 20000 miles. which i did spin alittle between gears but it wont much.

Street racing is illegal sir... =/

My buddy had about the same mods as you do minus the tuner... in a 00 GT... I have a 03 GT (Stock) and he didn't pull on me to bad... I don't know if this helps or not... I am not supprized that you didn't pull on him like you wanted to think you were going to at all...

Your 04 GT you wont really feel a difference until about 20-25K miles.Shifter is still new and stiff and so is your rear axle still to Just give it some time. Then judge it Dont drive it hard though

04gt 17x9 saleens, flowmasters, diablo predator with custom tune, 3.73, mac straight shot, upr shifter, bassani o/r x-pipe, 275/40 yokohoma es100s

You should be raping him with 3.73s. By the time you have 8600 on it you should be well broken in, there isn't any significant diff after that.

What did you dyno at. How do you have a "Custom tune", is it a dyno tune or something else? Do you have the dyno sheet.

If it is a mail order "custom tune" (Aka you told em what you have and they send it) try turning it off. I am not at all conviced that they can get a tune right just by tellin them what you have done. I know that Diablo wasn't even close for me.

yeah with the 3.73's and his stock gear ratio i would assume that from a 20 mph roll you woulda had the higher RPM and jumped him by alot right there and then just comtinue to take off the faster you guys went. you shoulda beat him by more with your mods you have to his stock GT.

it was a mail order tune from diablo sport tuning, I plan on getting a dyno tune in a couple of months. I run 93 octane gas, he was running 87. the tune i got made a difference, mostly in the lower rpms, 2000 to 5000. i just installed a upr plenum last night, drove it this morning it made pretty good power.

stupid question...was your traction control on or off..?????
cuse that would make a diffrence from a dig or a roll at 20mph..cuse you figure at 20mph you stomp it with the trac off your *** is spinning...i know cuse i done it plenty of times...i only turn it off when i wanna bark my rear when i puller into 2nd

i use 87 manual says to run it...so until ford says "you need to run higher ot gas" im sticking with the 87....i know when i dump 89 or 93 into my tank after a few tanks i run like crap...i mean i know you have mods...but if the diablo tuning didnt do anything to the compression ratio "mind you i know jack sheat about cars just what i hear" then you might have issues with the higher octaine...anyway if yall think im stupid its cool just dont beat me up or somthing LOL

im suppose to run 93 octane because of my timing being rather high with the tune, and traction was off. if it is on it bogs down real bad.
