what exactly does a new mass air meter do? and can i use it w/ my cold air intake?

a mass air meter gives you computer a reading of the volume of air coming in. DO NOT buy one. your car will never outflow the stock one naturally aspirated. if you use a supercharger you will need one, and most s/c kits come with the apropriate one.
