Default Engine question

What is the difference between the 96 4.6L and the 02 4.6L, is it the same block but different heads?? The reason i am asking is because someone is selling a 96 4.6L motor w/o acc. for cheap and i want to get it and build it over time and out it in my gt later on, will his work ok??

Default RE: Engine question

yah, heads, intake manifold, i believe the 99+ have bolt on cam gears as to pressed on, ignition system- the 96-98 have coil packs, the 99+ have coil on plug, i don't know if a 99+ cpu would run a 96-98 motor. can't really think of too much more.....hmmm. That would be pretty trick though to do the swap.
