Intermittent noise
Alright everyone, the other night I was driving my car and noticed that when coming up to stop signs and disengaging the clutch that the idle was getting lower rpm's than normal. Then I pulled up a stop sign and it died. When I tried to restart, it turned over but really hard like something was kind of seizing up. So anyway, we push it around the corner to get it out of traffic, and I try to start it up again, and it fires right up but there is a noise coming from the engine. So I baby it back b/c there were no check engine lights and the voltage/oil pressure was reading normal as well as the temp of coolant and the noise slowly went away and I had no problems with it the rest of the night. It scared the crap out of me b/c I thought it was a timing chain or something. My buddy, who is a mechanic at a dealership was with me when it happened and he thinks it's either the alternator or water pump. The noise comes and goes and it's been like 5 days since it happened and it hasn't died on me since. Like I said, no check engine lights, I haven't lost any power when accelerating, and we pulled the serpentine off to see if one of the pullies was hard to turn and all seemed fine. Any ideas?

No one has a guess to what my problem could be?
