Default Help with new tranny

Well, I currently have a '96 GT with AOD tranny. It will be going out soon so my pop and I decided on getting a new 5-speed tranny. I really don't know too much about the t45 or t-5 trannies. Which is recommended? I went to my local mustang shop today and they said they could get it put in in about 7-8 hours. Basically my question is, is should i get the t5 or t45? Where can i find them for sale? And will it bolt right up or will there be modifications?

Thanks guys.
