Default Quick Q

I own a 96 V6 stang atm and everything is driving fine.
I am now looking at a couple 01' GTs at a car lot for my next car, and while test
driving them I noticed it is quite a bit harder to turn the wheel (steer) than the V6. Is this just
because the vehicle is heavier? or is it abnormal? Sorry for the noob Q : |

bottom line it comes down to that you are now going to buy a sports car. yea the V6 may have a 'sporty' body, but no where near the performance as a V8. also, you are looking at a straight line car (meaning the car is not meant for drifting contests unless heavily modded) so the wheel is suppose to stay more centered. i hated the suspension at first but you will learn to like it soon after.

question for you: manual or auto?

Am just going auto since It's the only decent deal around for these cars in my state (WA) that I can find right now and
I have been trying to be patient. not to mention it has 40k miles when everything else $1k more has 75k. Even though
I know manual would be fun and great practice for later on if I ever want to get an older high end car.

if this one has 40k miles and the rest have 75k miles and are $1k more then i would look into why this person is selling it so cheap. i am not saying the car is bad i would just wonder

Gts have a stiffer suspension and wider, grippier tires. These factors create a stiffer yet more responsive steering feel. If your 1st choice is a manual, then thats what you should pursue. Use the pricing and low mileage on the auto as leverage to haggle a better price for the manual. Remember to get a carfax report before you buy the car.
