Default Why is my gas mileage so ****ty

Ok I have a 01 gt 5spd only mod is a CAI

Ive changed plugs, oil and plug wires.

I drove on the freeway 100miles one way dropped my dad off at the airport and came back.I set the cruise at 72mph and got 17mpg

Ive read alot of you are getting 20+ on the freeway.

Any guesses why mines so low?

no plug wires but Im thinking I need to get some.

When I pulled the plugs the plugs looked fine so that doesnt lead me to a possible bad MAS or anything.

Im pretty sure it doesnt have gears the RPMs dont seem that high.

What should the RPMs be for 3.27s at 60?

its under the rear of the car tucked up behind the rear axle in front of the gas tank. I just replaced mine it was like 8 bucks, but you will need to get a tool from the parts store to release the pump from the fuel lines, the tool is cheap also.

+1 on the fuel filter... I changed mine and got about 3-4 more mpg.

Also, Dont use cruise control... You use a lot more gas when you do.
