Default pats (passive anti theft system) HELP!

So i've recently put a 2001 gt engine in my 96 mustang. Went flawless, I hooked everything up and went to fire it up. I got nothing, I've recently learned about this ford system called pats (passive anti-theft system) which recognizes the key to your computer and allows for the car to turn over. Since i just bought the engine and not the ignition setup i have no key that it will recognize. Is there a way to byspass this system so i can start my car?[:@]

Probably cheaper just to have a new key made from ford, it's like 50 bucks

Some tuners can turn it off, Sniper is one of them.

When you say it does *nothing* what do you mean specifically?
Cranks?
Starts then stalls?
Does absolutely nothing?

Here is a ton of information on PATS:

Use your stock computer for your 96. I don't know what you mean about going flawless. You have a return style fuel system and the 01 and harness does not. If you didn't change the fuel system then you have a different connection for the fuel rail. So, like I said, it couldn't have went flawless.

Pull the 01 computer and I'm sure you used the COP, well take them out and use the coil packs and wires.

Think of it as just putting in another NPI. EVERYTHING outside of the engine itself is reused. Looks like you've got some work ahead of you.

EDIT: AND, what did you do about the OIL level sensor on the 96 engine, because it's not on an 01.

RESEARCH.

What it sounds like is that he did not swap out the computer or wiring. If that is the case, PATS is not the problem. I know from experience that when you don't ensure that your torque converter is properly connected to the tranny, your car will not turn over at all. Once I fixed that problem the car turned over.

So did you go from a V6 To V8? I did a similar swap about 2 yrs ago 99 V6 to an 02 GT. i had to have everything from the 02 to make it work right! harness, computer, ignition, and still had to do some custom wiring to wire in my vert top, and fab a custom connection for my fuel lines and one for my brake booster! This was still not a plug and play, it had to be towed to a dealer to gete a reflash done, to make things easier you can swap out the ignition cyl. to be able to use your org. keys that match your door and trunk. So as Sxynerd said you have pleanty of work ahead of you!
