Default 2V questions

I have a 2V with a vortech s/c. What parts would I have to replace internal wise to allow more boost and power?

Wait weren't you JUST talking about a GT500 drivetrain?

Dude, show me some pics of your car and engine bay. You change your setup like everyday and if I'm just giving advice to not even really help you with a real motor/car then I really don't feel like wasting my breath.

I don't want to sound like a dick or anything, but it just seems like you're one of those someday guys.

to go higher boost on a stock 2v, you need to replace everything w/ forged internals and ARP hardware. This is assuming you're wanting to go above 450hp.

If you look at Post #17 from this thread https://mustangforums.com/m_4994742/tm.htm, there is a brief list of what mods he has. From the sounds of it, he wants to push over 600+, just an assumption on the 600 part.

Basically, the 2v can handle over 600 RWHP, you just need to forge everything you can. Bottom end, rods, pistons. Upgrade the fuel systems, brakes to at least a 13" big brake kit to be able to stop that much HP and more suspension mods to get it to the ground.

^^I can't see the thread.

Well, I'm assuming you do have what you say you have, so I'm sorry I sounded standoff-ish. There's just alot of threads here asking how to make big power when they have bone stock NPI GT's and a goose egg in their checking account.

The weak point in the shortblock is generally the rods and pistons. If you can do your own work, the budget build would be to rebuild the bottom end and put new rods and pistons in which would probably get you to around 500's at the wheel. The bottleneck is going to be the heads. Your one limiting factor may be the Vortech itself. If it's an S/SQ trim they flow much less than a T-Trim and a P1 headunit so you're probably going to be limited to around 450 at the wheel.

Here's a pic of his engine compartment. You can see a supercharger packed there nicely behind the Passenger headlight assembly.

Brief List of Mods from that post:

yea its a vortech. dual bosch fuel injection, ridium spark plugs, 36 lb. injectors, suspension package, built rear end (31 splinei believe), short throw shifter, bullit intake, kbar, steeda exhaust, and yea. that pretty much sums it up. stock headers though... im gonna have to change that. i wanna put the T56 viper tranny/clutch in when my current one needs replacing. engine is also pretty much stock. pistons and rods are stock so im only running 10-12 lbs. of boost. could a built 2V really compete with the 750hp+ muscle cars/4V modded cobras n such?

i don't see why u would even need to upgrade your brakes. yea the car has more hp, but it still weighs the same. hp doesn't affect stopping power, weight does...
