Well I just went and test drove it, it was dark so i was only able to see by street light. The cars all stock and he has receipts for all the work done. It has 216,000 kms on the car. New tires. King cobra clutch put in about 30k kms ago. Started up and ran pretty good, drove it around the area an don the highway a bit. Felt pretty smooth, shifted fine. The clutch did feel like it grabbed kinda far out when driving from a stop. Maybe just needs adjustment.
Interior is really nice condition, black cloth, power everything, sony deck. The paint had a few scratches on the roof and a bit on the hood from him wiping snow off. The front bumper had a few minor marks and the rear bumper was replaced because someone rear ended him. (ford dealership did the work, cant really tell except one tail pipe is kinda missing a chunk on the end.
The guy wants 7k, which seems to be the cheapest I can find around here. Here's a few crappy cell phone pics he sent me, hard to tell much tho. Let me know what you guys think, should it be a pretty solid car, or would I be looking at replacing lots in the near future? Do you guys think this would be a better buy than a 98gt (stock except pullies and flows) 150,000 kms (not miles) for $5850.
And heres the 98

I'd say get the new edge, you'll be happier. USUALLY they don't run into problems. You do get the freak ones, mine has 42k miles and is losing a small amount ofcoolant on the passenger side somewhere, head gasket.[:@]

+1 on sex appeal. i love the way the 96 - 98s look. not as common as the new edge but that is my opinion. should last you a lot longer as long as you do the regular maintance. also where are you buying the car from that would make it in kilometers and not miles? just thought i would shove my nose into you business a little

My 1996 GT has 135,000 miles on it and still runs great. I am getting ready to do a PI Swap on it to include Comp Cams, Springs, Headers and X-pipe. As long as you take care of you car and religious about oil changes and maintenance they will last well past 150,000 miles. You can always pick up a used engine, from junkyar or Greenleaf, for under $2500. If the body is in great shape go for it and replace the engine later if you have to by swapping it out.
