Default How long do 4.6's last?

Hey guys, I tried the search but no luck. How long to most 4.6's last before they start having serious problems? I'm looking at a 99GT with 200,000kms (125,000 miles) on it. With this mileage would I be looking at any serious problems in the near future? The guy did say he has receipts for all the routine maitenance.

Longer than the owner....... If a car is well maintained it can last 200k. I had 100k on my NPI motor and and had even and full cylinder pressure across the board.

On "my own" car I would put a s/c on at 100+k and not think twice.

i would look around some more for a lower mileage car as not much difference in cost between a car with 80K versus 120K....

there's people on this forum that have boosted/juiced 4.6s with well over 100k miles with no problem. they can last awhile as long as you take care of them. unlike a lot of 5.0s that can be beat on and still run

Mine has 123k on it and runs like a champ! I wouldnt worry about buying one with that mileage if he has receipts for all the maintenance. (thats why I got mine, he had documentation for oil changes at like every 2900) Good luck man!
