i think its a 98 4.6 npi. u need a npi intake w/ the alum coolant crossover. and a new set of gaskets(duh). a new one is only like 2 bills anyways but if u go the ebay route make sure the one u buy has less than a 100k on it or else u run the risk of crackin another manifold.

It may help to post links to the ones you were looking at getting. That way we could see what you are looking at. I know that you can find new ones on eBay.

Depending on your budget, this may be a good idea to look into a PI intake swap. I believe there are adapter plates that make the swap possible, maybe even a kit. I think there may even be a thread on it on the boards. . . try running a search for it.

pi intake isnt going to help much...at least thats wat ive heard. i considered it at one point and the responce i got was is that its like pissing on a fire, it wont give u the results u want. if u want better throttle response and better flow etc etc keep the npi manifold and go to an enlarged plenum and 75mm tb.

Well performance is not my goal (reliability) i want to keep the stang in a stock condition (like if it was new) my Lightning is the one that im going to work on as far as performance.
These are the links that i was looking at on ebay to see if you guys think these are good non PI intake manifolds...

seems to be pretty ligit although i couldnt find out who actually makes it. u might just try finding a new npi intake from a reputable website. itll be the same price. maybe like 5 bux more expensive. buts thats just my advice, i personally dont like ebay, too easy to get screwed.
