Default 4v 4.6 from mark VIII question

will a 4v 4.6 from a 97 mark VIII bolt up to my trans (2000 GT 5 speed....t45 i believe) and if so are there other changes i'd need to make?

i think i blew mine up last night.......not even doing anything.....engine has been ticking for a couple weeks and last night it died.....battery or alternator......probably alt. if i jumped it i could run it for about 5 minutes.....then one time i started it and pop......sounded like bad backfires coming form the engine.

any ideas?

It should bolt right up. The MarkVIII is the same Teksid block as the one used in the '99 Cobra which has the T-45.

You'll need the oil pan from your 2v and you'll need a different intake and someone told me about an exta coolant passage somewhere but I don't know where.

I wouldnt write that motrr off so soon. Ticking is normally valve train or something in the upper motor. As far as backfires and stuff...it is probably a voltage shortage or irregular volts from your bad alternator/regulator

ok so the alternator is definitely shot......and one of the plugs worked it's way out and the resulting spark in the plug hole blew the coil boot to pieces and the spring out of the hole.......i hope the threads aren't ****ed up.

helicoil or a new head would be cheaper and take less time.
