Default 01 GT .... 04 Mach

i know both have the t3650....and i know in 01 and that they had that 2nd gear problem with popping out and that... in 04 did they fix the problem and is the gearing diffrent in the mach 1 because i had to put a new tranny in the car and i got it out of an 04 mach 1 wit 30K wondering if it was exact same which i think it is... or there are internal diffrences... i have it bolted up just finishing up headers n that so i dont know yet.. any input is good thanks

Hrrmm.. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the internal gear ratio's on all of the 3650's stayed the same. The difference I BELIEVE between the 01 GT's and the 04 Mach's as far as gears goes is in the rear end. Stop me if I"m wrong here, but I think the GT's had something like 3:23's and the Mach's have 3:55's in the rear. And as far as Ford correcting the problem, they didn't brudda. It wasn't the gear popping out that's phucked up, it's the synchro's, cause I had two different 3650's before I finally got sick of it and upgraded to a TKO when I did my current mods a few months ago. The 3650 isn't a BAD tranny persay, but I'd definitely keep an eye on both your synchro's and the shift forks, because they're both notoriously weak in the 3650's broham, especially if you beat on the tranny a lot by powershifting, etc..

Only part of the year in 01 had T3650's, the rest of them had T45's.
