PI Headswap Before/After Results at the Track
I went to the track finally, after completing my PI Headswap.
Before with Bone Stock NPI 1998 GT (5spd - 3.27 gears - 110k):
2.356 - 60 ft.
6.332 - 330 ft.
9.647 - 1/8 ET
74.89 - 1/8 MPH
12.30 - 1000 ft. ET
85.32 - 1000 ft. MPH
After with 2002 PI Heads/Cams/Intake (5spd - 3.27 gears - 133k):
2.159 - 60 ft.
6.032 - 330 ft.
9.255 - 1/8 ET
76.98 - 1/8 MPH
11.82 - 1000 ft. ET
88.15 - 1000 ft. MPH
Difference of:
.197 - 60 ft.
.300 - 330 ft.
.392 - 1/8 ET
2.09 - 1/8 ET
4.80 - 1000 ft. ET
2.83 - 1000 ft. MPH
Same track, similar conditions, untuned, and everything else is stock. This gives a ballpark of what you can expect to gain with a NPI to PI Headswap.

RE: PI Headswap Before/After Results at the Track
please correct me if im wrong here....for i have never had pi swapped an older GT. but...from what i've read...dont you have to get it tuned before it will run right? i think i remember reading something like...."it will still run like a non pi GT untill you get it tuned."
maybe i wrong, and im sure someone else who has done a PI swap will chime in soon. but for some reason, this is what i am thinking.

RE: PI Headswap Before/After Results at the Track
This is with a bone stock engine and just swapping on the heads/cam/intake from a '02 GT.
No tune, no exhaust, no bolt-ons, not changes other than the swap.
2.83 MPH is about 28.3 HP (roughly).
It drives like stock and idles like stock.

RE: PI Headswap Before/After Results at the Track
I actually have ran a higher MPH with my 2000 GT, which was 89.47 if I recall.
It feels right at the same power. With some more practice with it, I could increase the MPH.
I just pulled right off the highway, went in-line, and ran it. No burnout, or special tricks.
I would say it puts you right at a 99-04 GT. The no-tune sort of makes of for the increased compression difference.
I did the PI Headswap last summer, but I just finally decided to take it to the track. I do not race my daily driver much.
