My insurance went up $1200 a year for my GT. It's my second vehicle. No tickets or accidents. Insurance Sucks....

ive been dreaming of a mustang ever since ive realized that my 98 dakota is slow.
haha classic.... I'm in the same situation as you, just i'm a year younger and have a slow tauurus. I've been looking at 99-01 GT's and i'm in the same price range about 12-14K

You could always get a pre-99 GT, or maybe even a earlier cobra and use the left over money to build it up . Why spend ALL your money on the car, wheres the fun in that. You won't have any $$ left over for mods. Get an older stang and put some money into it and you will smoke 99+ GTs.

I'm just old I guess. I pay ~$1200 yr for two GT's a Bonneville and Chevy pickup. I guess age does get you something.

What you can get will depend on your area. You should be able to find 2002+ GT w/ low miles for that kind of money. Probably find a higher mileage pre-2003 cobra, or higher mileage Mach 1.

Since you've not had a sports car before, I'd recommend a lower mileage, late model GT. All the power you need getting started. Just my $0.02.
Yea, a cobra or mach would give you some good bang for the buck.

^^^^And both will net you a even higher insurance bill, if you want to keep that as low as you can stay away from Cobras!!!

Hahaa, this is true. Go with an older GT if insurance is a big problem.
