Default what should i get?

im about to graduate from high school here in about 3 weeks and ive been dreaming of a mustang ever since ive realized that my 98 dakota is slow. i could probably get 5 grand out of that and i have some money saved too from working my *** off the last 2 years and i was wondering what would be the best stang for me in the 13-14 grand range. thanks.

Get a newer GT (99'-04') for sure, and if you can fine a good price on a Mach 1 I would defently get that over the GT! Otheer than that I think you will have a nice ride soon!!! Good luck with your search!!!

you could get yourself a nice 99-02 GT for that range. nothing new. maybe a 99 or 01 Cobra with 60K miles. also don't forget the insurance that will be sky high. i got my 01 GT my last year in high school and it was my first car and they started me off at $3,900 and it its now $6k+[&:] so i would look at maybe a 5.0 or something to that nature and be careful and don't screw around when you get it cuz it'll hurt ya short and long run. good luck.

yeah i got a quote over the winter on a 99 z28 6 speed but my dad went nuts cause it would increase the insurance $2400 a year...ouch dont blame him. somebody please tell me that insurance is lower on a gt. it should be cause the z28 ls1 pumps out 305 horse at the crank and the gt does 260.... right?

I'm just old I guess. I pay ~$1200 yr for two GT's a Bonneville and Chevy pickup. I guess age does get you something.

What you can get will depend on your area. You should be able to find 2002+ GT w/ low miles for that kind of money. Probably find a higher mileage pre-2003 cobra, or higher mileage Mach 1.

Since you've not had a sports car before, I'd recommend a lower mileage, late model GT. All the power you need getting started. Just my $0.02.

I got my 2003 GT below for $16K with 45K miles and CAI and Flows. My insurance is $215/month with no tickets or accidents. Try and get a 2003-04 GT or Mach1.

Yea, go wif a 99 - 04 GT - you shouldn't have any problems finding one in great shape for that price range.

I just bought a 2003 Mustang GT, Leather, 5spd, and only 21,000 miles and paid just under 15 grand before tax, tag and title. Good Luck--Watch out for that insurance-shop it around.
