Default cobra s/c on a gt

I have a 99 gt with a few mods on it. I want to S/C it and i've been lookin at cheaper ones for the time being (like under 2000). THis is because, i'm savin up for a 2.2 kb blowzilla, but i want to have some power now, so ill buy one just to give me some extra.

Now I knwo the cobra's engine is quite different from the GT (internals, DOHC, etc.) but what exactly would I need to do in order to make a cobra s/c run on my car?

furthermore, how much boost can those s/c's run? and do you need an intercooler with them?

Thanks a lot!

cobra will not work(4v vs 2v)....... do not need intercooler......8-10psi on stock internals to be safe

wait a minute..i've heard you can attach them with "minor modifications."

you sure that it's not possible? I didn't think the valves would affect the S/C?

if it does...how?

all the posts i've read regarding this, by the time you're finished getting a cobra blower working on a GT, you may as well have just bought a new one made for your motor.

The cobra heads are a 4 valve configuration. Your gt is a 2 valve configuration. The supercharger sits on top of the manifold, and the manifold sits on the heads. If you have 2 valve heads it can't possibly work on 4 valve heads. therefore the only way to make it work would be either buy a cobra or get 4v heads. hope that helps.

also in addition to the comment above, you'd have to get 4v valve heads, transmission, cams, and so on.....in the end its cheaper to drop a cobra engine in and sell the gt engine on ebay or something.

Sounds like its gona be a lot of money and headache. If you want the power now, go spend $600 on an NX kit. SOOOOO much cheaper and faster and then save for the blower you really want. JMO
