it still turns on but it is clear i need a new motor i may decide to post a vid later.... what happend was my timing chain somehow got loose, not sure if it streched somehow or if the tensior failed but it skiped some teeth and i got some PVC and that is what caused therod knock. i am a mantinace guru with my oil and i was only about 900 miles on this oil change.

a redone stock shortblock will cost you about 2000 if i remember right a stock long block as about 3000-3200 a slightly built long block is 4200-5500 depending and it goes up from there. it all depends on what u want and what u wanna spend.

my advice is sell the long block thats in there and buy a stock long block from o'reilly's or a used one from ebay or a salvage yard. cheapest and easiest way out.

This was actually a local shop. but that price is outrageous. and they told me that they wont warranty any of there work because of the suspension mods and tires on my car, and they felt that the car was going to be abused at the track and on the streets. at that point i was like F*** THIS!
