engine bogs out
I have a 01 GT and the engine runs fine, until i gas it and it gets over 3000 rpm and then it bogs out, like there's a rev limiter on it or something. I had an Expedition one time, and it had similar symptoms, and it turned out to be a coil pack. You guys think it could be the same thing, or is it somthing else? Anyone else had this problem?

IDK. I bought the car last October. They could be the original ones. It hadbogged out like thisa while back, but the next morning it was fine. Now it has done it 2 days in a row, so I'm kinda worried.

u must determine what its bogging from first. itsfrom one of the following: air, spark, fuel, friction. 2 muchfriction would give an even bog across the power band so thats ruled out. getting too much or not enough air at a certain rpm would cause this, but is not likely. fuel starvation from a bad PCM message to the injectors at a certain rpm would cause this(just an example could be something else) inadequate spark would be the most likely to cut your power abruptly at the same rpm every time. since errors in the ignition tend to be more consistant errors than any of the other causes of bogging. but only a mechanic can tell u exactly whats wrong. so go get a diag.
