01 GT more hp than 02-04 stock?

01 GT more hp than 02-04 stock?
So i am talking to this guy, he has an 01 GT auto. He asked me what my red line was at i said around 5800-5900rmp. He said his car redlined at 6500rpm. I said are you sure becuase that sounds like a cobra redline. then he said that 01 GT's have more hp stock than mine stock (03GT) becuase the redline was higher and the car weight 200lbs less than the average GT, and come stock with posi's and 3:55's ohhh and better exhuast manifolds. I said that was the first time i have ever heard that. I ask him if he had the pi heads. He said yes and that the guy before had some work done to the heads. And then he want into how he is getting a whipple and howthe auto shifts really hard/fast. I asked him if he or the owner before him had a tuner. He said he didn't know what the guy had done to it, but he(the guy iwas talking to)dyno it at 302whp. At that point since i have seen and heard his car before and he has told me before that he runs a 13.6 in it. This car is no 300whp car. Still has the stock exhuast.
anyways...
how full of crap is this guy? I guess you can say anything about you car when it isn't there for some to look at. Or am i retarded for not know 01 GT's are the fastest GT ever made. i doubt it

Actually the 01s did have a higher compression ratio which gave them 0 hp gain because of the tune. That guy sounds like a guy i met that told me his 4.6 was bored and stroked to a 383cid. I almost beat him there in the parking lot.

I'd love to see a 4.6 bored and stroked to 383cid. I always get import guys talking smack about the stuff in their engines. It's painful to hear this guyI know saying that a CAI and exhaust gave him over 40hp in a n/a scion tc.
