idles, wont rev over 2k, tries to knock off, fuel problem?
alright guys, i have a 98 gt that i swapped another 98 motor into and ive been havin some problems that are getting really annoying..
the only thing i can think is causing it is the fuel, when i first crank the car up and let it run for about 2 minutes, it runs completely fine, revs very strong. once it runs alittle itll start to try to knock off everytime i give it gas, no matter how much throttle i give, it just acts like it wants to cut off and is impossible to go over 2000rpm, but then it will idle decently with only a little skip.
ive replaced just about everything i can think of, fuel filter, fuel injectors, fuel rail, fuel regulator, and a few other parts and it still happens.
tonight, just to assure that its the fuel, i took off the filter and held the throttle to where it will try to knock off then sprayed in carb cleaner, and it revs right up.. so tomorrow im gonna drop the fuel tank and pull out the fuel pump and check how the gas looks and clean the strainer. if that doesnt fix it, ima go ahead and order a 255 fuel pump to throw in it..
anyone that takes the time to read this and give any advice i really appreciate it.. im just hopin someone may have experienced this problem before and may know whats goin on..
thanks

you replaced ALL of the injectors??? how much did that cost you!? Did you start simple with spark plugs? Check you MAF and IAT voltage? Check for a vacuum leak? It's possible that its your fuel pump...any things possible... but usually when a pump goes bad, it just stops pumping.

i had a spare motor, i pulled the injectors off it and cleaned them out along with the fuel rails, but i actually think i found the problem.. i suspected this at first but ignored it, but i got to looking today and noticed the MAF is calibrated for a cobra with 24# injectors that the previous owner put on for some reason..
