Default 4.10's are Baller!

just got my gears installed today... they feel damn good. I'm very glad I didn't go with the 3.73's, that would be like pissing away money. Highway driving wasn't bad at all. I can't wait to finish breaking them in so I can slap on the drag radials and really get into her at the track and a big thanks to full throttle performance in Indianapolis. This is the only time I've had someone else do any install on my car because I don't trust many other people and I like doing the work myself. JR down there did a great job on the install and fixed things up for me! no gear whine at all, if you are around indy I highly recommed them for gear installs and other work, he does quality work and honestly that says a lot because I am very picky about my car!

Why wouldnt 4.10s work with your auto? Those would be a great choice for your car.

Glad you like them. I am going to Modular depot in Northern Ky in a couple weeks to get mine. I have reada lot ofthe 3.73 vs. 4.10 threads and think I'm going with 3.73's simply because my stang is a DD andmost of my driving ison a 4 lane highway commuting to and from work. Keep us updated.

Go to my recent 'Knoxville gear installers' thread, there is a link there to a rpm calculator.

This one could get the job done. The one I liked more doesn't seem to be available anymore.

Oops, forgot to attach the link: http://www.wallaceracing.com/gearcalc.php

The reason i dont think 4 10s would work is because a few times a year me and my buddies all go out of town on road trips and all drive our stangs... This is at a steady pace of probably 90 mph.... My car would be screaming!

Would i still be ok?

at 90 your car would be screaming but let me tell you.... I drive back and forth from indiana to Iowa, a 430 mile journey a lot and it wont be a big deal. I drove it 70 miles on the highway today and its not bad at 75 its at about 2600rpm. actually even with my loud *** exhaust it seemed quieter because it was at more rpm and sounded less stressed, I don't care about gas mileage but ill report what I get on the way home so people concerned about that can get a reading on the gears, but I dont care because thats why I have a blown sports car and love to race.

I didn't believe everyone that I should go with 4.10s.....I was a skeptic before owning them. but after having them I wouldn't want less gearing because they kick major ***

but to each his own I guess. I will sacrafice the gas to go faster and 4.10's kick ***. It pulls a lot better now!

4.10s + my vortech are a great combo, gives you some torque down low before the boost kicks in...
