What did you guys do to your cars?? I heard people put on transgo shift kit on there cars what else?

 

Im not an auto guy but the usual mods for the tranny are a chip (increases power as well and improves shifting), shift kit, and higher stall converter.

 

Do the usual bolt ons. You NEED to get gears. I had 3.91s in my '04 auto. Go with those or 4.10s. Also you are definitely going to want a tuner or a chip. A stall is a good thing to get as well. Once all of those things, some slicks to get it to hook up.

 

I'm an autop, but don't have the funds for a high stall converter anda shift kit... PM 98LS1 he knows about that stuff I believe.

 

Converters arent so expensive, Im planing on getting one from PA for like $300. I got a Predator not long ago and the difference is very noticiable. Shifts are neck braking at wot and it shifts right at the sweet spot.

 

i had a local transmission shop do the work. They actually specialize in performance transmissions. They rebuilt my tranmission with a 1,800 stall converter, ( daily driver anything higher gives you crappy gas mileage) trans-go shift kit and i got a foward valve body, so i can upshift my car. Its pretty sweet, the stall converter keeps the engine in the powerband to make more torque, and i can shift and chirp 2nd and 3rd gear!!

 

^^^ This is true the converter is not that expensive, but the install will run the total price up there. If you like what the predator did for your trans, buy a Trans-go Shift kit!!!! You will really love how it shifts then, I just have mine installed on tue. and it shifts so hard now!!! Even just normal driveing it chrips going into 2nd!!!! And you feel every shift. I also have all the mod's listed in my sig. so to answer your question put all the normal mod's one (exhaust, tb/plenum, cai, pullys, ect.) and then you have some options for your trans and I highly suggest that you get a shift kit, you will love how your car drives after you have it installed.

make sure you get a LOCK-UP converter. otherwise it will be to hard to drive on the street.

 

i have 4.10's and a predator tuner. i will be looking into a shift kit soon but might do suspension work first.
