Default Quick exhaust question. Flomasters, to be exact:)

I am going to get my father in law a catback exhuast system for Father's Day and I need to make sure I'm getting the right one. He wants a bit of a deep rumble, that's all. Not loud, not raspy, just deep at rumble and all through the RPM range. I was thinking the Flomaster 40. I have heard these are the best ones if you want the classic V8 sound. Is this correct? If not, what am I looking for to produce that sound?

EDIT: He has a 2000 GT

If the flow c/b isn't enough I would also throw on an O/R H. You/he won't be disappointed and its only another 150 bucks. If you can't afford that weld in some flows and buy the O/R H.

IAC? (What does that stand for) With my flows and o/r x-pipe is this mod going to change the sound....I have a 5-speed and I like the way it sounds but I do have a serious problems with the rpms hanging bad like...and mine is a 99 do you guess suggest doing this mod?

If your talking about the IAC mod with making the new gasket with a smaller hole in it, then no it won't really change the sound. It only changes the sound when you shift I guess, when you shift it sounds like the exhaust is being choked off while the RPM's fall much more rapidly. Either way I love the sound of flow's with an X or an H.

Yea go with the flows. I have the 40's american thunder with a o/r x. The sound is perfect.
At first i installed the catback. I thought it would be enough but i was still hearing alot of motor noise and not so much the exhasut. So you should get a x and the catback

The IAC mod makes it so that when you rev the gas your rpms just drop as if it was carburated. So it gives it more of a popping sound aswell.
