running lean??
ok a month or so ago i bought a granetelli fuego flash tuner. So i pluged it in and went tthrough the settings to tune my car not having any issues at all. THen a week or so ago i bought a off raod X pipe. I installed it and drove it around all day and everything was fine. Then the next day i drove around again when the check engine light came on. So i pluged the tuner in to see what it was. It threw out the code that it was running lean on Bank 2. So after seeing that i pluged in the tuner and set the car back to stock and it went away( this was about a week ago) . So today i started up my car and drove around and the cehck engine light came on. So i pluged in the tuner and it threw out the rinning lean code again. I dont no what to do or why it is throung out the code. The car is completly stock as of now excpet for the x pipe and a flomaster catback. The tune is set back to stock. What should i do??? should i clear the code or can it be a seroius long term problem?

RE: running lean??
Right now the car is set to stock. Which means all the 02 sensors are on. But when i had the 02 sensors off the same code (running lean) started. So idk ifi should just erase the code to turn the light off

Would the instalation of a X pipe make a car run lean??

Also if your throwing a code saying your lean, you should hear pinging, if its that bad you should be able to hear slight detonation. Hard to describe what they sound like over the internet.

RE: running lean??
Yes installation could send that code. If you have an exhaust leak before the O2 sensor (manifold to midpipe joint) then O2 will get in the exhaust and the O2 sensor will read lean because of it. Check for leaks.

Also, how old are your O2 sensors?? It is always possible that an O2 sensor could be getting old... But check for leaks first, looking for carbon deposits around the adjoining area, listen for exhaust escaping, or even a loud muffled sound coming from the end of the manifolds...
Just because it says it's running lean, doesn't necessarily mean it's running lean, so listening for pinging may not help in this situation.. Normally, if the PCM gets a "Bank X Lean" code, it will tend to compensate by throwing a ton of fuel at the engine to prevent predetonation..
