Default Coils Helped to a Point

I replaced coils 1 and 5 yesterday and after driving some last night and again this morning it seems to have helped the miss whiling driving. But it still idles rough while sitting still. Don't know what might be causing this but would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks for the help.

Have you checked your plugs? A really bad fuel filter also. Also the IAC. I would do the first two though, along with checking all the coils

Plugs have less than a 1000 miles on them, fuel filter replaced in the last 15,000, and I just replaced the IAC last week trying to correct the starting issue it has sometimes. Which I don't think it helped. It didn't want to start one time after replacing the IAC but hopefully that was just a fluke of some kind. As for the other coils, the computer that showed which ones were bad, showed how many times each coil had missed and none of the others had missed any at all. Thanks for the help.

How does one check their ignition coils? (COPs)?

Maybe I missed an earlier post, but what are the symptoms exactly? Is your car stock or have you made some mods?

If you hook them up to a volt meter, and turn it to Ohms, you can find out which one is running bad if that's whats going on.

To the op, I agree, what are your plugs gapped at?

The idiot that changed my plugs last put in the stock heat range plugs and gapped them to .02", I was having a horrible idle.

I changed all the CoP's to the MSD ones, and it got alot better, but then checked the plugs, and replaced them with the BR7EF's, gapped them at .035" and the problem went away.

I would say it's probably your plugs, definately check the gap.

The plugs are gapped at .053-.054. The car is completely stock. I replaced the plugs myself but I have also been told that the Autolite double platinum don't work very good on the modular motors. I am planning on changing them back to factory plugs but I was wondering if there were any other options that might fix this problem Thanks for all the help.
