Sniper Recon fuel trim fix...
A while back I hacked my way into the SniperScope.mdb database file that Recon uses to identify and reformat PID values for display. The improper display of the fuel trims as positive values above and below 50, rather than as +/- percentage values above and below zero, was annoying the crap out of me and I set out to fix it.In any event I found the problem (an improper calculation for converting the raw PID value), corrected it, and notified Sniper of same so that it will be fixed in the next version of Recon. However other than my mentioning it is a few post on the Sniper forum I hadn't done much with it.
I had some time today and packaged up the latest version of Recon and my fixed database, and added a link to my site. So, for those of you that use Reconclick here to go to my SF/Recon download page where you may download a .zip file containing the latest (8/9/2007) version of Recon, and my patched version of the SniperScope.mdb database. UnZIP the installation file (SniperReconUpd.exe) to a convenient location and then execute same. The installation package will backup your existing Recon.exe and SniperScope.mdb file toa new folder (...\Recon\cikBackup) and then install the new files.Let me know if you have any problems...Here's what the broken and fixed displays look like:
