Default to supercharge or not

right now i have a automatic gt. and i was really considering doing a trans swap to make it manual. wouldnt it be about the same price as a supercharger? would i be better off just doing full boltons instead of worrying about a supercharger wearing my engine. my car already has 85000 miles on it

what should i do

full bolt ons wont give you the HP a supercharger will. and in the end will cost just as much as a supercharger for 1/2 the HP.

the SC is the best bang for the buck for our cars, other than gears

^From experience, I second that! I would have done a Helion Turbo though. I spent a lot of money on parts with very little HP added. With that same moneyspent on aSC or turbo, I thinki would be a lot happier with my car.

Depends on what kind of blower you want to get.. also depends on how hard you drive the car.. If you've got a real lead foot I wouldn't recommend it.. Though there ARE guys on this forum that have put S/C's on a car that has more miles than yours does and they didn't have any problems.. I'm taking it the car's probably going to be a daily driver right? If that's the case I'd go with a centrifugal unit like maybe a Paxton Novi, vortech SQ, or a pro-charger.. That's just me though..

not always...usually depends on:
-how the car was taken car of (was it abused or babied?)
-how you drive the car(race around town 24/7 or just drive it normal/nice and easy)
-what you plan to do (300-350rwhp DDor 450+rwhp DD)

as stated before. id forget minor bolt ons. they wont do too much compared to what a s/c will do. also as suboti stated the paxton, vortech or porcharger would be the best bet (personally id go w/ the vortech since you can put the kit together for around $1500!)

why would anyone do the auto to manual swap? its a waste of money... i'd say if you really want a power adder, either buy a supercharger, of buy a complete nitrous kit, nitrous is nice because you have the power when you want it, but you don't have it all day so you don't sacrifice gas mileage
