Okay new question then...

What wires do I need to splice to get my DLC to work properly again?

If your dash wiring is stock, the only wires you should need to splice are:

Tan/org to pin 16 of the ECM
PNK/LT Blu to pin 15 of the ECM
VIO to pin 13 of the ECM

Also, there is an Anti Lock Brake Control module that the DLC gets info from. IN Right front of engine compartment, behind radiator. Wires are:

Tan/org to pin 30 of the ABS CM
PNK/LT BLU to pin 29 of the ABS CM
LT/BLU WHT to pin 24 of the ABS CM

All of the rest of the wiring at the DLC does to equipment behind the dash.

Okay, so I spliced these wires from the underdash harness into the ECM harness. That will work, right?

These are all in the ECM harness and since that is all plugged in it SHOULD work, right?

Theoretically yes it should work. If it is still not working, I would suggest to do the following:

Check the fuse (31) and make sure it is not blown. Check and make sure the ECM is getting power, which looks like PIN 71 on the ECM. If the lead has power, check all of the grounds to the ECM. If all of that checks out,get a volt/ohm meter. Check resistance between all of the connects, start and end to the wires that go to multiple places.

Tan/org resistance from DLC to ECM, EMC to gauge Cluster, Cluster to DLC
PNK/LT BlU resistance from DLC to ECM, from ECM to Cluster, Cluster to DLC, Cluster to ABS CM, ABS CM to DLC, ABS CM to ECM

If all of that checks out, maybe the ECM got shorted along the way. I fired 1 when I was doing my swap. It is pretty easy to do.

Its amazing what you learn when you take 2 mustangs, of different generations, and make them one ..

I just like to help out when I can. I still have a lot to learn about wiring, but man I can read a schematic like no other now, and trust me, a tone generator, and volt/ohm meter is your best friend.

Try that stuff out, and report back. We will figure it out. Has to be something simple, I know it was in my case. It took me almost 3 weeks to get mine all wired up.... correctly

I bought a 96 3.8L auto from a guy I work with, and a 91GT off my buddy. Took the 91GT, cut it up, used the wiring anddrivetrain from it and dropped it in the 96. Built a 306 with the TFS H/C/I setup for it. I could go waaaaay into detail, but I will spare everyone the time .. It was a cool project. I ended up selling it all off to get my real 96GT with the 4.6L, which I just swapped over from an auto to a 5 speed .

If I could go back, I would have dropped the terminator motor in it instead of the 306. 5.0's are cool, but I really hate push rod engines. Here are a few pics of it before and after. I took some video of it when it was all up and running if you know somewhere I can post it up.
