I bought a V2 unit and was told it was the V2 SQ. It's annoyingly loud through the airfilter. The whistle is ridiculous. Are all V2's the SQ "super quiet" versions because of the helical cut gears? Could I just have a really loud V2 SQ? The tag on the unit only says V2 and not SQ? What is goin on here. I'm a little dissapointed in the loud noise!

 

I have the V2 SQ on my 95 GT. Mine is actually really quiet and I wish it was louder. At idle you can hear a small whistling sound and that's about it. Under normal driving I can't hear it at all. I guess yours is just really loud. Sorry I cant help

 

+1 on wishing mine was louder... It's too quiet and I have a convertible.

 

I drove the car and all the sudden it got quiter but it is still audible where people think something is wrong. It's still prtty loud and I can hear it the entire time driving, both city and highway speeds.

 

Do both of yours say V2 SQ on the tag or just V2?

 

My Supercharger just says V2 on the silver plaque. Maybe you have a leak between one of the inlet tubes, but then again your car would probably run really crappy.

 

Maybe my expectations were just to high or I have a louder V2? It works well and that's the important part. I ran it up to 8psi and it got there rather quickly. I didn't want to max it out with the generic tune until I get to the tuners and strap it down

 

just curious, why do you guys with sq trims want louder s/c's? I personally love not having a loud blower...my buddies with prochargers pull up next to someone and they wont even run because they hear the blower. with my car, they laugh and try to gun it but always end up seeing my tail lights
