Default Gas

i know this q has been asked so many ways, in so many diferrent times in so many dfferent ways, but here i go again neglecting the search feature because it never comes up with what i want. I never asked the guy what gas he ran in the car. My neighbor said price wise running anything more than 87 would kill me which i know is true, so his suggestion was run that with octane booster. Is this a good idea, or does anyone else reccomend i put a higher octane than 87 in??

Adding booster everytime would be a pain in the butt. Assuming that premium is $.15 more a gallon, if you filled your tank up with it, it would only cost $2.10 more than putting 87 in it. I figure just put premium in it if you have up'd timing or compression, or put mid-level 89 in it if it is stock. I have a stock car and it burns 89 the best, IMHO. I have tried all three (87, 89, and 93) and I got the best mileage with 89. Performance was the same with 89 and 93.

you're right let me rephrase my answer.

if it's stock AND YOU WANT TO DO WHAT'S BEST FOR YOUR MOTOR run 87. when you put a turbo or supercharger on it run 93 or more.

The02GT is right, if you want to run diesel fuel, you go ahead, if you want to run race fuel 110 octane, go for it.

So i mean whats the point of asking a question on here, you should run what You think is best. I shouldn't ask anyone what X pipe to get casue i shoudl run what I think is best. I shouldn't ask anyone if 25 PSI is safe on my stock 2V cause i should run what I think is best!

the question was asked because the kid doesn't know what to think is best.

ford says the best thing to run in a stock motor is 87.
