ORIGINAL: mustangmancp

does it only help on boosted cars???
huh? no...

its just like upgrading to a 75mm tb/plenum on a n/a car. its going to help on either/both.

The horsepower it will yield on boosted cars will be a lot greater, yes; but you might see, as mentioned before by sxynerd, 3-4 if your N/A, and that's not toobad for $250. The greatest improvement though would be your throttle-response.

I don't trust it. New isn't always better. I'd wait until someone does a Flow test on it. Until then, I would stick with whats proven to flow the most air on a flow test, and that is Accufab.

It is proven that on a lot of plenums (except Accufab and C&L ALL plenums) that a 70 preforms better than a 75. the extra 3mm may hurt you for all you know and i wouldn't be surprised if it did cause a HP loss. Remember the job they did with their throttle bodies...

i wouldn't buy that just because if your t/b goes bad, you have to replace the plenum also, it looks good, but i'd just get a Professional Products one

thanks. Anyway this must be for guys with the professional products intake(ported) and hardballer. Putting this on a somewhat stock mustang would be useless. I can also see for centrifical s/c's. My point is you can only put so much air down the stock plenum intake hole.

yes, there is so much you can shove down the hole..but I believe Ford would of wanted more air. They were restricted because they had to keep the sound of the intake down. Remember theres a bulge across from the EGR valve on the inside of the plenum just for that reason. The after market plenums do away with that, and increase surface area, increasing airflow at the expense of a little more intake noise.

Not of much use on a N/A car. 70mm flows the same as a 75mm without juice or boost. Plus, you risk reducing air velocity and hurting performance. And, as stated above, if the TB goes south, you're replacing the whole thing. Granted, it's about the same price as a TB, but a little more involved to change out versus the TB alone.

Of more interest is the upcoming debut of the BBK intake with the internal butterfly valves. It's supposed to offer gains up top without losing the lower end torque. Personally, I think those valves are just one more thing to break.
