svtguy, I bet your contour hits on all four cylinders. We are talking about modded cars here. There is no question as to potential between some crappy 4 banger and a beefy V8.

From my experience the F-Bodies are a pain to work on because of the shoe-horned motor. Given, 4.6s are complicated to work on compared to the push-rod 5.0, but if you know what's going on, the SOHC 4.6 is pretty simple. People give the 4.6 a bad rap just because they don't know how to work on them.

No. Ford sets the price, and how long they expect the part to last. Then businesses try to figure out how to make it for that cost, while still delivering the quailty, and still being able to make a profit. They have a huge quailty system that is universally accepted by virutally every domestic and asian car companys. Its a nightmare.

I know its competely screwed up, but its how the automotive buisness works. I work for a interior plastics company, and let me tell ya unless you are driving a BMW or other higher class car, your import isn't built any more sturdy than the domestics.

We serve Ford, Dodge, Mitsu in my plant, and several other companys. Some of the things that go on are competely insane. But I cannot honestly say that the mitsu or dodge parts are any better or worse than the ford products 99.99% of the time.

Ford does like to use TRW, and I freaking HATE those arrogant bastards. They send cheap **** to us and then say we are "droping the switches on the floor" when we test em and they fail.
