2.1L Kenne Bell

RE: 2.1L Kenne Bell
If your already installing the 10 psi pulley without getting a tune, then you sir will qualify as an idiot. Canned tunes are nice, but 9 times out of 10 are crap. You should go to the tuner and have them get you a baseline with your current pulley and see what your air fuel ratio is, from there, post back here and we'll be able to help ya a bit more. There is nothing any of us can really help you with because of a lack of information.

i wish i knew myself what iam putting out i just got the kit about 2 months ago and my car is an animal! I look at kenne bells tech info charts and i should be around 390-405 rwhp and 420-430 tq with their factory tune and at 9psi. but that might not be right either so who knows at this point.

NOT a good idea. You might have a fine tune... but you might not. Almost certianly you would get more power out of a custom tune than going up a pulley size anyway, and its just a massivly bad idea. Since you have not blown it up yet, the safe bet is the tune is at least OK, but with summer temps rising etc.... well it only takes one bad tank of gas etc to have a tune go from "on the edge" to boom.
Get on a dyno ASAP, or at least get a wideband a/f meter and check the a/f ratio etc. Do not trust ANYONES tune, no matter who does it, without at least a a/f check.

RE: 2.1L Kenne Bell
If your worried about the shortblock capabilities going to a 10lb w/no dyno time. Not good. Just stick with the 9lb pulley. Stick the 10lb in your closet for now. I have 10psi Vortech on my cobra non-intercooled because it makes too much power now. I do have a meth kit that starts spray at 7psi but I do not dare to change timing for more power on my stock block. I do it more so for less heat and safety reasons. A centri which is completely diff than a twin screw makes me 442rwhp/426rwtq @ 11psi on my 4.6l dohc 97 cobra with a relatively conservative tune. The 3rd pull netted 487rwhp but that was unacceptable for a/f and timing on my stock block. When my car pulled in there she was running really rich and it pulled 376rwhp so that should give you an idea how important a dyno tune is. You can prob gain atleast 30rwhp out of a dyno tune! If a dyno is just too far, I would reccomend buying a wideband and a Sniper Special Forces tuner

Dude - You spent like 5-7K with your blower and setup and you run the risk of a canned tune??? You are out there on the risk curve my friend. I have 11 psi with my vortech on a stock block aftercooled. It is all in the tune my friend. Get your car to the shop for a custom dyno tune as very car is different. I do not recommend much over 410-420 rwhp on a stock block.

I agree with the others that you should get your car to a tuner ASAP and get it base lined in the current form.
Yes, Kenne Bell makes a fine product and their canned tunes are excellent, however, every car is different.
Things from your other mods, to the version of firmware in your PCM can have major effects on how your motor runs and while these things will rarely cause problems for NA cars, when you go FI you just can't take the chance.
IMHO with that kind of power you should start looking at beefing up the drive line.
Depending upon how hard you drive the car of course.
Just my 2 cents.

right now the chip they give you is a very conservitive chip. it runs rich so do you think i should put the 9psi pulley back on cause this wensday i am having it dynoed to see were i am at.
