Default YES OR NO? Can I put a 94 4.6L in my 00gt

I am in a bind and need to get my mustang sold (found a great deal on a 03 cobra)

My mustang had an oil starvation issue and threw some HLAs and rocker arms, needs an oil pump and pickup. My car has 80k miles and I need to sell it before this other car sells. I found a drop in 83k mile engine from a 94 T-bird (i know no PI heads) but I can pick it up running for $750 still in the car.

I just want to fix my car and get it sold.. What all would be involved in retrofitting this engine?

Another option: found some DOHC heads (30kmiles) with full intake, exhaust manifolds, wiring harness ect... For $1000... Can I plop those on my block, and what does it take to do that??

Honestly they had 5.0's in mustangs untill 96 when they started the 4.6 non pi. (correct me if i am wrong). I am not sure what 4.6 is in a T-bird. It may bolt up to motor mounts.. but the tranny will most likely be the problem.

Also.. you could prob find a PI motor for less than $750. seems a bit high for a 94 motor with 80k

Yes it will fit. Don't even think about a DOHC swap if your selling it. Pre 99 is only about 215fwhp and isn't worth much. if you need to do it to sell it then do it but it wouldn't be right if you didn't tell the new owner.

X2 someone under the impression that they are getting the factory motor and later realizing its a less powerful engine from another veh could potentially turn into a big ordeal...just my $.02

Seems to me that it would be cheaper, easier, and faster just to fix the motor thats already in it, especially if you're willing to pull the motor out.

Dont d!ck over the next buyer of your car by putting a NPI engine in it. If you do that then I hope someone swaps a S/C 4cyl. into your 03 Cobra the day that you buy it.

Those early 4.6's are even worse than the Mustang 4.6. You can find a 99 up 4.6 if you look harder
