Default Cat-back Vs. Weld-Ins w/LT and OR X

Hey guys, an o/r x and l/t headers are going onthe mustang but before they do I'm wondering ifI should get a cat-back system to go along with it or just some weld-in's? Any advantages with a cat-back, such as improved flowb/c ofbigger piping, or should I save the cash and just buy some new mufflers?

Thanks, running tight on cash after buying the vortech/fuel upgrades!

Im a fan of dumps, to me it seems like tail pipes give it that glass pack sound because of the echoing throughout them, but if dumps are out of question for youthen just weld some in, c/b's are a waste of $.

Thanks!
Sorry, no dumps, I NEED that oldschool deep muscle rumble. I'm thinking flows; super 40's weld-in.

Since your low on cash I would recommend just going with whatever mufflers you choose. You already have LTs and an O/R X which is getting you about all the horsepower you can get out of an exhaust. I mean the 2.5 inch piping may help, but not enough for you to go out and waste $300+ on a catback.

I totally agree, after thinking about it, that's what i plan on doing. I need to start saving for my forged goodies and h/c/i in the near future

Good thinkin, I would try to find some ORIGINAL 40's to weld in. The super 40's are quiter than the old school 40's, I know you can find them on ebay but I dont think any sites sell them anymore.

Wow thanks again man, me and the little bro really appreciate it. We def. want loud, but its hard to find a muffler that is deep, loudand not raspy. I want it to burble like the '69 I was telling you about.

I think I found a shop, they work with Rob Lasota (the son) and seem really knowledgable/ fair priced. It's called AP Tuning, and they are in Columbus.

you could also put larger (longer and bigger diameter) tips on on the tail pipes to give it more of a deep tone. Not to mention, it looks a hell of a lot better too

No problem bro, you can also check out MAC Flowpaths. My clip is in my sig (minus the l/t's), they are a little bit raspy but anything is gonna be with an o/r X.

I'll have to check out that AP Tuning, keep me updated on how it goes.....
