RE: which transmission fluid
Right from the service manual, I beleive cliffyk originally posted this info.
"TREMEC engineers have recommended Texaco-Havoline Dexron III/Mercon Non-Synthetic ATF. The most recent Ford owner's manuals specify 3.17 quarts of a non-synthetic Mercon ATF. Synthetic fluids willcause prematurewear of the synchronizer materials."[/b]

RE: which transmission fluid
I changed mine last time with synthetic Dexron/Mercon and didn't see mush improvement in shift quality. So with all the discussion out there I am going back to regularValvoline Dexron/Mercron

RE: which transmission fluid
Do not put synthetics into these trannies. They will eat the synchros, causing them to pit and soften. Put in Dexron III/Mercon or equivilant. 3.17 quarts for the 3650, 3.5 for the T-45.
