Default aluminum driveshaft is it worth it

Is it worth changing out to aluminum driveshaft. frp offers one for around 260.00. what would be the benefits and the cons for going with an aluminum driveshaft.

yes it would be beneficial.. Besides that it is less rotational mass on your drivetrain, it cuts down the vibration of the stock driveshaft when you have higher gears installed

based off the mods in your sig I would say not to get it right now. yes, it is benificial but you will not notice much with just the mods you have. As mentioned ... its less rotating mass which is nice especially with a built up engine capable of running at higher rpms... but with just your mods that money is better spent somewhere else.... just my .02 cents.

My experience has been that the effect of a lighter weight driveshaft, justlike that of a lighter flywheel, is immediately noticeable on any car; especially if you are the sort that does a lot of pedal to the metal acceleration in the lower gears (because that's when the rate of rotational acceleration is highest). In the higher gears, and normal rates of acceleration, the effect is less pronounced because the rate of change in rotational velocity is less. Also in normal driving, the sort that does notattractthe attention of law enforcement, it can be barely if at all noticeable.

You will feel it, however it wont be as much as you believe it will be. I wouldnt say that it is not worth it, because i feel that every bit does help. It is less weight on your rotational drive train and will give u a % of hp back that you would lose over your stock drive train. You wont have more BHP but you will have more RWHP.

The swap takes about 10-15 minutes. No kidding. It should be noticeable but not crazy. The alum shaft only weighs about 6 pounds less than the stocker if I remember correctly.
