Default Low Power

I this car new then sold to then bought back from my mother for $1500 91k miles on it. She said it was not running well with the check engin light on. It will be crusing normally plenty of power and then boom just loose about half its power, and be missing like hell. I can floor it at 70 and it wont pick up any speed its so bad. Also if i am sitting still is idles like crap. It almost seems electirical to me but the codes say other wise. I took to get to check engine light coded and it came up 1130, 1131, 1132. Mostly MAF or a bad injector stuff. I can rule out an injector because it looses more than a single cylinder, could the O2 sensors be causing this? Looking at what those codes represent it does not seem, that they could cause what it is doing. Any help would be appreciated

if its throwing codes for bad injectors or a bad maf...and you can rule out the injectors....then start with cleaning your maf, with some maf cleaner spray (which you can get at the auto parts store). the first thing i thought of when reading about your problem untill i saw the part about the codes, was spark plugs. when is the last time those were changed? it might be wise also, just to do an all around tune up....new plugs...fuel filter...oil change...etc.

Here's what the '03 factory shop manual says about those codes (they all point back to P1130).At 91k miles and the way you describe its being normal and then "boom no power",my gut wants to say it's something EGR related. A sticking EGR valve could do exactly what you describe. The EGR valve only openswhen "the engine is warm, stable, and running at moderate load" (from the shop manual). From what you describe the problem pretty much occurs when "the engine is warm, stable, and running at moderate load", I suspect the EGR vale is opening (its opening is a modulated action, controlled by the PCM, not an open/closed sort of thing) and then sticking open.

I would check the TPS unit also. If not working right the unit could not be telling the computer what the throttle is doing.
