Default T/B and Plenum Problems

so i attempted the throttle body and plenum instal today. and now im having a throttle or idle problem. i was hoping yall could help me out. my tuner gives me the error code p0122 and p1000. 1000 is "OBD-II Monitor Testing Incomplete", p0122 is "throttle body position sensorlow output" and when i depress the clutch to shift my rpms hang where they were(even if its in neutral) for at least five seconds before my rpms (very slowly) start to decrease. we have checked and re-checked everything. the only thing i think it could be was a malfuntion t/b position sensor. although we checked that too and it seemed to turn and spring back like normal. what do yall think? it just amazes me though because nothing was touched or damaged at all during install! and after test drives im pretty upset that i could tell a difference from cai and pulleys but not t/b+plenum wtf.

yea steve, if your talking about the same one btbw is then yea its clamped, well! and i checked all the hoses, but they were barley touched during the whole process, so it has to be something on the t/b. like that sensor or it needs to be adjusted. It just annoys the hell out of me cause i know how simple this is! im going to dallas mustang monday though, its like throwing in the white flag but whatever. cause i spent damn near 6 hours doing a f#$&i&3 t/b and plenum. makes me want to get everthing else i do prof done

Lots of complaints about problems with swapping out stocker TB/plenums for aftermarket. Accufab seems to be notorious for this (not just here, but on several other Mustang forums that Im a member of). The general consensus is that it could very well fix itself in about a week or so, if you can deal with it for that long. Another thing you can try is to "reset" the idle screw on the TB.

"Originally posted by HBT_136 on Corral.net: Unscrew the set screw all the way, then screw it in until there is .010" i between the screw and the t/b (using a feeler gauge). Then screw it in ONE full turn from there, and lock it. It worked great for me, i reset the computer, did this, and finally my idle is better again. Is it like stock? No, but its a lot closer than before, and my idle doesn't hang anymore or dip low to like 500.On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being idles like stock, i am not right about 7.5 after this method, which is do-able for me, compared to like a 1-2 back when my idle hanged.Just my experience, maybe it wouldn't hurt to try it. But i know where you are coming from."

Also, TPS problems seem to cause it and others have reported the issue being resolved just buy replacing it. Hope this helps... good luck and keep us posted as this seems to be a common problem when switching out the stock combo, and its next on my list of perf. mods so I wanna be prepared for anything....

Your TPS is bad, they do go bad with no warrning.

Also, Throttle Hang and High idle are common problems with aftermarket TB/Plenum. The only way to fix it is to have the decay rate reset with a tuner OR go back to the stock trottle body. I had the same problem with mine.

yea i figured it could only be a few things. im going to just wait till tom mourning and see what the shop says. theyhave been right every other time. im still pretty disapointedin the difference over the stock t/b and plenum. shouldve got a shifter!!!
