How do you jump the fuel pump?
#2
RE: How do you jump the fuel pump?
I would wire the pump directly with 12 volts and see if that will make the pump work. If it doesn't, it is a bad fuel pump. I am not sure but I believe you can hit the fuel tank area with a hammer while someone trys to start the car. If the car starts, you need a new fuel pump. This hammer solution is the same thing done to tell if a starter is bad.

That is what the shop did when they diagnosed that my pump was bad.. and it was. Symptoms was the car would occasionally start.. but when it did the RPMs would drop and almost let the car die.

RE: How do you jump the fuel pump?
check and make sure the interia switch in the trunk wasn't tripped. The Brown and pink wire is the power feed to the pump. And the Dark green and yellow wire is the hot wire from the fuel pump relay(ccrm) to the inertia switch. Also check the fuel pump and eec fuse. the supply the power to the CCRM Which controls the fuelpump relay.
to jump it you can run a hot wire to the brown and pink wire found at the inertia switch.

heres a few more diagrams to help you.
you can also jump it at the (ccrm)Constant control relay module connector 192 in the diagram above. By jumping pin 11yellow wire and pin 5 dark green and yellow wire.

RE: How do you jump the fuel pump?
You can go throug all that crazyness above or you can just trigger the inertia switch then run a 12v line from battery to the pump supply wire (after the inertia switch) andput a switch inline. If you are just doing this to test the pump.

WOW! Kick *** diagrams!
In re: to the pump, I always would just listen to see if it kicks in when I turn the ignition. If it doesn't, check the inertia switch, check the fuses, and the wiring. If all checks out; time to drop in a new one.
Do you let your car go below or around 1/8th of a tank on a regular basis?
You might want to replace the sending unit while you are at it; might as well do it all right while it is down. I had a bad sending unit once that markedmore fuel than in actuality. As a result I would always run the car with little fuel in the tank. I went through 3 pumps in 3 years.
