RE: is race fuel worth it
If you are talking about fuel with more than 100 octane, then no, it's not worth it on a stock-engined car. Your car would actually be slower if you used it. Racing fuel (high octane) has less energy per unit volume than pump gas, so it takes more of it to make the same amount of power. The only time it's beneficial is when you have high compression or some form of forced induction. High octane fuel burns slower than low octane pump gas, which is its real benefit because it allows you to run more timing advance than you otherwise would be able to with pump gas. The extra timing can translate into a ton more power, but that's not the case with a stock compression engine because it's already able to run at optimum timing with pump gas.

o well im doing a pi swap this winter hopfully and ive heard that will give me higher compression and im gunna get a tuner to advance the timing proble so would it be then cuz with the tuner cant i set it for 100 + octane

I took a little class on fuel..
I use to be part of the race gas = lower HP thing..
BUT, spark is spark. You light gasoline, it doesnt matter if its 87 or 100+, it's going to ignite, and it don't matter to the combustion chamber and to the piston that just got smacked down what octane did it, as long as it did it at the right time, and with a high octane gas like a race fuel it will always happen at the right time; assuming you've got spark.
You can go ahead and use it..you won't run any faste though, and you'll be angry at yourself when you look at your wallet when your in line at the Wendys afterwards
