if you have slicks then yes heat them up. but if you have street tires there is no need to heat em up. just do a quick spin to get the dirt and other nasty stuff out the treads. NO WATER NEEDED. water will just get in the treads and cause slipping.

I've been told that doing burnouts on street tires is a bad idea, just dump the clutch for a second or two to clean them off. I've managed a 14.0 w/ my setup, and you have gears and a tune on top of what I have, so I would think you should stand a shot. As far as launch, just feel it out and see what you can work with. Try not to let it bog down, but keep them from spinning all the way through first.

yeah you have resonable expectations, if you can get ur 60' time under 2.00 you should have a 13.70ish pass? Maybe better gears make a hell of a difference, your first pass will probably be riduclously high because of nerves and the whole not being used to it thing but by ur 3rd or 4th you should have an idea of what you car is capable of.

you should be able to beat your uncles trailblazer, but like that guy above me said spin em like once, to get the stuff off or else you will never be able to get traction, My friend just recently ran in his 99 GT with those tires except they were slightly wider, he told me he took off @ 3K and didn't even really dump the clutch, his reaction time was amazing, his 60' time was pretty good too, he ended up running a 14.22 with stock gears, an xpipe, UD pullies and a BBK intake.
I was pretty suprized at his time but yeah, makes me feel good about my car because i got him by 3 cars.

As for my car, i made the mistake of burning off my tires, they got really slick, i got sideways in 1st, 2nd, and almost hit the wall in 3rd.. i had to let off to avoid doing so and ended my FIRST day at the track with a best time of 14.5 lol, very sad but i didn't know anybetter, since then i have yet to run MY car at the track, she was broke down for a while, i just recently got her back and running buti think she needs a tune up because she doesn't feel like she has all the power she used to. I think im'a take her out once before the summer is over and she will get rebuilt over the winter, probably suspension work and full overhaul, as for you Good Luck and i think you will have no problem taking the trailblazer.
