"I" personally like the centri-based superchargers over roots style, but that's just me. The centri-based (such as ProCharger, Vortech, Paxton, Novi, etc) will build more boost as rpm's rise and like someone else posted...the roots style blowers (KB, Whipple, etc) build boost lower in the rpm band.

If you decide to do a centri-based blower, I have both Vortech and ProCharger and like both. The difference is the ProCharger is a self contained unit, meaning...you don't need to tap the engine's oil pan to oil the blower for lubrication. The vortech, paxton, etc use the engine's oil for lubrication, so if ya low the motor...the blower is toast and if ya fry the blower you can hurt the motor with debris from the blower.

On the other hand, a self contained unit like ProCharger uses it's own oil. So, if ya hurt the blower or the motor you don't risk cross contaminating the motor or blower. Make sense?
Sure does. Basically it's safer. I get it. What kind of oil does the procharger use? How often do I have to change the oil? Where can I get the oil?
It's a synthetic oil from ProCharger and you change it every other oil change (basically every 6K miles). It's very easy to do. We changed it in my wife's ProCharged 06 GT last weekend. It only took about 10 minutes.

Also, BTW. If I were you, "I" would do the D1...reason being that if you ever decide to go really crazy with your motor, you will already have the blower to support it.

I'll bet it's easy to change but where do I get the oil from? BTW I don't plan on racing at the track. Well, maybe on occassion but I just like to have my car with some nasty kick to it.

Ya buy it from ProCharger. You get a case which has 3 bottles in it. I don't know how much a case is because it came with my ProCharger kit.

I have one oil change left until I have to order more. They charge so much for 18oz's of oil. I got into thinking, Paxton, Vortech tap into your oil pan right. That oil is sufficient enough to lubricate the supercharger. I use full synthetic oil in my engine. Why can't I use that same oil in my P1sc??? Why must I use only Prochargers oil. My shampoo recommends using only its brand conditioner after I wash my hair...I have no warranty, maybe I'll use my synthetic motor oil in my Procharger and condition my hair with brand x.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I examined the ProCharger oil and it looked like plain ol' Mobil 1 5W-20
