Default KB vs. Saleen Series IV

I'm trying to decide what forced induction route to take, as it will be coming in the near future. How does a Kenne Bell compare to a Saleen Series IV supercharger? I know both are twin screw but the Saleen is around $800-$1000 less than a KB. I believe I have heard the KB makes better power though so I was just wondering. I also don't know if you have an intercooling option with the Saleen.

Aside from that, I'm debating between twin screw and centri. I know twin screws are instant boost (more expensive though), but it seems like centri's post just as good, if not better, times at the track.

From everything I've heard, your best bet is to stay as far away from the Saleen as possible. I've read multiple places that they dont make much power, and you cant push very many psi through them before they become extremely unreliable.

No personal experience though...just kinda based off readings on here.

If I were in your shoes though....KB > *

Stay away from the saleen blower unless its a series V, but those are much more expensive than the IV. But the KB is better than both by a long shot.

The centri vs. twin screw is a never ending opinion battle usually biased by the owners of each. Its gonna be about 50/50
Either one will get you to your goals, but the centri will get you there cheaper.

I find it interesting though how a blower that has to build boost will perform as well as one with instant boost.

It's because some of the smaller roots/twinscrew blowers run out of steam up top compared to the centri blowers. The KB has great torque for the street making it really easy to pass. I haven't been in a centri blower car but the novi 2k seems to make quite a bit of power from what I have seen.

In a drag race, you aren't spending hardly any time in the lower rpm rage anyways. Most centri cars are well into boost past 4500rpm which is where you'll be throughout a quarter mile run anyways. Its also a lot easier to maintain traction off the line with a centri car providing you arent dropping the clutch at 5k.
