Big Problem
hello everyone i have a major issue with my axle..on the left rear ..it is loose when you take the tire off the entire rotor moves like its loose..they told me that its the rear axle, axle seal, and bearings...does anyone have any info on this please help me out people..
How loose is it? How much play does it have? Who had it checked out? When you say it moves does it rotate front to back, or actually pull out / in from the car?
first off, the rotor isn't even attatched to anything. The only thing holding the rotor in place are the wheel lugs and when you tighten the wheel down. The caliper with the pads are slid over the rotor and would cause an inexperienced person to get all panic'd. If your entire wheel moves either up/down or left/right, makes no diff. then yes your bearings are shot, but if it's that bad you should be able to hear or feel while driving. The in/out motion is common up to 1/4" depending whether or not if it's been taken apart or not (abs disc needs to be pushed outwards which allows more moevement inwards for rearend removal).
it moves side to side when its grabbed by a hand..also i do feel it while i am driving and hear it..its sound like thump thump thump.... while i am driving and braking..also sqeaks...they told me i need to replace the entire rear axle, axle seal and bearings...
Damn, sounds like what's happening to my car. It squeals while driving and my abs light comes on. I wonder if the 2 360s I did on the highway ****ed it up. Anyway, was there anytime that you spun the car out?
no i didnt spin the car out..they are telling me that i need to replace the axle seal, bearings and axle all in the rear..they didnt say its bent they said its broken..only on 1 side does the axle move.. can anybody else help me out..
